Club News:
There was no meeting on October 13th due to Columbus Day and the Rest Stop, but we made up for it at the meeting on the 27th. Lion Al Draht reported that we've completed the 11th ramp for the year, making 37 total, and we have received a $50 donation from one of the lady recipients. Lion Lance Muir reported that 600 were served at the Costa's BBQ, and in addition to their thank-you note, Costa's will be making a donation to us for use of equipment. Their BBQ benefits the Painted Post Food Pantry. Lions Donna Barto and Gary Bernhardt worked at the last Blood Drive, and Lions Audrey Manchester and Marshall Updike were among the donors. Lions Bob Byland and Donna Barto provided vision screenings at the Mall, and were thanked by a woman to said her boy would have lost vision in one eye if it weren't for a Lions screening. Lion Gary Bernhardt reported that Lions Dave Marks, Mike Nagle, Don Williams, and Tom Rhodes built some steps at the last Camp Badger work party for a total of 45 hours. A collection was also taken at the meeting for a sight and sensory box. Lions Lance Muir and Ed Fairbrother picked up the last two tickets for the 50/50, and Lion Marshall conducted the first drawing.

Our speaker in October was Dick Buchannon, a specialist in hypnotism and paranormal investigations. He spoke of his interesting and ongoing career, which has included work with police investigations, 10 years hosting a call-in show, and several years as "Sir Richard, Sooth-Sayer", at the Rennaissance Festival. Interestingly, on that Monday he accurately predicted that Eric Frein would be captured by Friday of that week, in Pike Township.

Coming up on the 24th, our speaker will be Gary Howard, regarding missionary work in Honduras.
